JAMMU, Oct 7: As a part of ongoing cleanliness campaign under Clean India programme, an initiative of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, volunteers of NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) RS Pura today cleaned statue of Shaheed Daljit Singh Azrot (SI J&K Police) situated in Daljit Chowk, RS Pura who attained martyrdom while defending the mother land. They also cleaned the statue of Maharaja Ranbir Singh, Dogra ruler after whom the Ranbir Singh Pura (RS Pura) town is named. The event was organized under the guidance of Principal, Prof Sunil Uppal and supervision of Prof Bindu Kumari, NSS Programme Officer. About 20 students participated in the cleanup drive. Principal of the college applauded the efforts of NSS unit. |
