Madan Lal Sharma Charitable Trust holds monthly meeting at Khour

JAMMU, Oct 7: Monthly meeting of Madan Lal Sharma Charitable Trust was held at Khour. The meeting was chaired by the chairperson Satish Sharma. The meeting started with paying of tributes to the farmers who died at Lakhimpur Kheri during a violent incident and Kashmiri civilians who lost their lives due to recent terrorists attacks in valley.
In the meeting problems being faced by people of Chammb area were discussed. The meeting was attended by many prominent people of Khour area who gave their suggestions to solve the problems being faced by people of the area and to raise the issues at appropriate platforms so that these issues are resolved at the earliest.
Amongst the speakers were BDC Chairman Praveen Kumar, ex-ZEO Babu Ram, Charan Dass, Gittan Singh, Rano Devi and many others. Speakers raised various serious issues of the area like problems of the farmers, problems of the milk producers, increasing prices of fuel and excessive electric bills being served to the people. Vikrant Dogra, a social activist who works for the welfare of cooperative societies was also present during the meeting. He informed people about the procedures of forming Cooperative Societies and also told about the various benefits of the societies to the farmers and other Self Help Groups.
During the meeting it was decided that within next 3 months at least 30 Cooperative Societies will be formed which will work in food processing, milk production fruits processing sectors and they will be provided financial assistance through various govt schemes. Continuing the tradition, plantation drive was also done at venue of the meeting. Fruit plants were also distributed to the members of the trust that came from different panchayats.
Sports kits were also distributed amongst the youth of Khour and school going kids were given notebooks. During the meeting financial aid was also given to the widow women under the age of 40. The working committee for block Khour was also announced.
