10/8/2021 11:11:24 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 8: District General Secretary Congress and president Beopar Mandal, Gurmeet Singh demanded immediate rollback of hiked fuel prices, Gurmeet Singh said that BJP is looting the people in the name of taxes, adding that on what basis the BJP-led government is deciding the prices of petroleum products for which it needs to give explanation to the people. He said that the BJP Gov. is mercilessly looting the public with hiked fuel prices, especially during a raging pandemic. "I want to ask why this hike in petrol and diesel prices is when international crude oil prices are low," Singh said. He said petrol and diesel prices directly affect the common people but the Centre has not formulated any policy to deal with the economic slowdown and they passed on the burden to the masses. No government can ignore people's voice. Hike in petrol and diesel prices will have to be reversed, he demanded. He said when the Congress-led UPA was in power, relief was given to people even though international crude oil prices were soaring while the Modi government has been raising petrol and diesel prices, burdening the common people and the farmers, who are already facing hardships due to the corona virus pandemic. Those who were present included president Ward No 3 Hardavinder Singh, Ward No 15 president Raj Kumar Sodhi, Manohar Joshi, Ranjit Kumar, Pooja, Asha Devi, Raj Kumar, Yash Sharma, Amarpreet Singh, Vijay Kumar, Raj Kumar, Apu Singh, Javesh Arora and others.
