NYK organizes mass cleanliness drive in educational institutions

UDHAMPUR, Oct 8: As part of ongoing Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrations, Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Govt of India) organized Clean India programme in different locations.
The cleanliness drive was taken up at Health and Wellness Centre Garhi, Govt Middle School Thard, Govt Hr Sec School Chenani, Govt Hr Sec School Pakhlai, Govt Girls High School Ramnagar, Govt Middle School Sunal, Govt Girls High School Chenani, Govt Middle School Dhanoo, Govt Hr Sec School Keya, Govt Middle School Sankri and Govt High School Kundra, Reasi.
In Garhi, the programme was coordinated by NYV Anjali and Shiwani in presence of Sarpanch Sushma Sharma, Dr. Ritu and other medical staff where a total of 4.5 Kg was eradicated. In Thard (Narsoo), NYV Shilpa and Anuradha started cleanliness drive along with school staff and students. In Chenani, NYV Jyoti Sharma organised the programme at both the locations with active participation of school staff and disposed 10 Kg plastic. In Pakhlai, NYV Madhu and Barsha involved Physical Education Teachers in the drive and disposed 15 Kg plastic.
Similar programmes were organized by NYV Anil and Bharti in Ramnagar, NYV Rakesh Kumar in Kulwanta, NYV Vishav and Mohit in Panchari and NYV Meena in Bhabber Rassaliyan. More than 10 quintals of plastic has been collected and disposed during the last two days by the National Youth Volunteers and NYK affiliated youth clubs. The programme aimed at eradicating plastic pollution is going on in all the blocks as per the calendar framed by Department Of Youth affairs, Govt of India. The cleanliness and plastic eradication drives will be done across the month in a mission mode in collaboration with all the departments on different days. The main objective is to involve all sections of the society in this campaign and to highlight the message of "Swachhta Hi Sewa" of Mahatma Gandhi.
