10/8/2021 11:13:52 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 8: A deputation of All Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) met Divisional Commissioner Jammu, here on Friday and submitted a memorandum to him, enlisting various demands, including Rs 1 crore compensation to two martyred teachers killed by terrorists, job to their kin, and full security to all education institutions and the teachers community particularly minority in JKUT. The deputation led by Neeraj Sharma Vice President, Rattan Sharma General Secretary along with senior leaders of AJKLTF.
AJKLTF has strongly condemned the killing of two government teachers Surinder Kour and Deepak Chand at Eidgah in downtown Srinagar on Thursday. Teacher Surinder Kaur was a local and resident of Aloochi Bagh and Deepak Chand resident of Jammu.
AJKLTF said that it's a dastardly act on the builders of nation and it seems that militants want to recreate situation of 1990 and there is a sinister design to deprive the student community from studying. Educational institutions in Kashmir valley be provided adequate security and employees particularly minority communities and PM's Package employees be given adequate security. In a statement, Rattan Sharma has said that the killings are part of the conspiracy hatched to create a wedge among the majority and minority communities living in the Kashmir valley. He said that people should be vigilant about the elements who want to exploit the situation for their own ulterior political motives. He asked the employees who are working in different government departments to boycott their duties and sit at their homes as long as their security is not ensured by the government. He asked members of the majority Muslim community to intervene and secure the lives of minority community members. AJKLTF J&K Vice president Neeraj Sharma also condemned the killings, saying the killing of unarmed teachers, who have nothing to do with politics, is nothing "but purely an inhuman act and frustration".
Meanwhile, AJKLTF organized a candle march in the evening and one minute silence against the brutal killing of two innocent teachers.
