Early Times Report

Rajouri, Oct 8 : The approach road near one of the vital bridges in Rajouri connecting 4-5 villages has collapsed and is lying in the same condition for the last more than 12 days.
According to the locals this approach road of the bridge at Mankote Thandikassi area connecting many villages has collapsed for the fourth time. This bridge connects the vital Mankote Garden and Children Park with the rest of Rajouri.
Locals said the entire bridge is faulty as the pillar of the bridge is very weak and is not placed firmly on the ground. “PWD has constructed a faulty bridge which was not even technically approved. The contractor used substandard material,” they alleged, adding that this bridge has been repaired by PWD on four occasions in the past.
The locals demanded a detailed investigation into the affairs of PWD Rajouri.
“It’s unfortunate that PWD used substandard material in construction of important assets of public Importance,” they added.
On being contacted, Maqbool Hussain, XEn PWD Rajouri thanked the reporter for bringing the matter in his notice. He further stated that he had asked his juniors regarding the issue but nothing has been done.
