| GDC Basohli conducts cleanliness drive at Mata Bankhandi temple, Mahanpur | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Oct 9: Intending to clean the religious places on the occasion of holy Navratri, the NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Basohli visited Mata Bankhandi temple, Mahanpur and conducted the cleanliness drive under the Clean India Campaign.
The drive was organized under the patronage of the college Principal, Dr Nidhi Kotwal and supervised by Dr Shiv Kumar, NSS, Programme Officer. Firstly, NSS Volunteers paid obeisance at the temple and then carried out a thorough cleanliness drive in the temple surrounding and collected plastic bottles, polythene bags, and wrappers, etc.
The temple priest and Mata Bankhandi Charitable Trust appreciated the efforts of the NSS team and mentioned that such a cleanliness drive was conducted for the first-ever time in the temple premises.
The Trust also thanked the College Principal for taking such initiatives to keep the society neat and clean and inculcating the sense of morality and responsibility among the students. Dr Papinder Kumar and Dr Shiv Mangal Singh were also present during the drive.
