| GDC RS Pura organizes awareness rally on cleanliness | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 9: NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) RS Pura organized an awareness rally under Clean India Programme, an initiative of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav under the patronage of Principal, Prof Sunil Uppal and supervision of Prof Bindu Kumari, NSS Programme Officer. The objective of rally was to generate awareness towards plastic waste management. About 20 NSS volunteers participated in the awareness rally. The students were raising slogans and carrying placards, charts displaying messages regarding discouraging the use of SUP. Afterwards, the NSS Volunteers also interacted with the general public and educated them about disadvantages of Single Use Plastics, segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes, use of green and blue bins etc. Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of NSS unit and Volunteers and motivated them to keep on doing such activities in future also.
