JAMMU, Oct 9: Under the banner of FIT INDIA- Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Sidhra in collaboration with GCW Parade, organized “Mind-Body Fitness” rally by NSS volunteers to spread awareness on the theme Holistic Health.
The rally was flagged off by the Principal, Dr Monika Sharma. The volunteers raised slogans Fit India, Hit India, Health is wealth,
If the Body is fit, mind is a hit and many more.
This event was a part of Mind-Body Fitness week (October 4 to 9) observed by GCW Parade in collaboration with its linkage colleges. A healthy mind is a key to healthy body.
Good health and fitness is not something which one can achieve entirely on its own, it depends on social, physical and emotional environment. Technology has contributed to a sedentary modern lifestyle, so it’s important to make lifestyle changes and invest some time in the health and fitness.
The main aim behind Fit India Movement is to keep India Fit and for that we need “healthy people, healthy family and healthy society”. Interacting with the NSS Volunteers PO Dr Mehmood Ahmed said that in today’s time we all must take up fitness as our daily lifestyle.
The rally was accompanied by all the faculty members of the college. The event was organized by Dr Mehmood Ahmed, NSS PO of the college and coordinated by Prof Deepa Kak and Dr Satbir Kour, members of the NSS Unit of the college.
