Maa Chanderghanta blesses Prabhat Pheri

KATRA, Oct 9: On its 2nd day, the annual Prabhat Pheri which is a part of Navratra Festival Katra, was flagged off by the chief guest Superintendent of Police Katra, Amit Bhasin and guest of honour Mayor of Karjat Municipal Council Maharashtra Santosh Maitre in the presence of former president of Hotel and Restaurant Association of Katra Shiv Kumar Sharma.
Kanjak depicting Maa Chanderghanta was the main attraction of today's Prabhat Pheri and she remained with the Prabhat Pheri throughout the route and blessed the people who participated in the event. The 2nd day of Prabhat Pheri was marked by scintillating performances of dances by renowned artists from Himachal Pardesh, J&K, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Maa Vaishnodevi devotees.
The Prabhat Pheri started from Bus Stand Katra to Darshan Deodi via Ban Ganga Road and the procession was welcomed and joined hugely by the locals and pilgrims.
The locals as well as pilgrims danced to the tunes of Bhajans and Kirtans performed by Kumar Pandey & Party.
CRPF personnel received the procession at Yog Ashram and served tea, biscuits and sandwiches to the participants.
NCC cadets and school students were very enthusiastic while participating in the Parbhat Pheri and they danced and chanted the Jaikaras of Maa Vaishnodevi all along the route.
Raj Kumar Padha, President Jammu and Kashmir Association of Prabhat Pheri informed that tomorrow the artists from Ahmed Nagar, Maharashtra led by Neelkhand Shinde will join the Prabhat Pheri and local people are requested to join in large numbers to make it a grand success.
The members present on the occasion were Ajay Sharma, Raj Kumar Dubey, Ramnik Sharma, Aman Mahajan, Manoj Sadhotra, Rajesh Gupta, VK Sehgal, Karan Gupta, Baldev Kumar, Renueji Dhar, Dharamveer, Babu Ram, Rattan Chand, Sanjay Tickoo and PC Raina.
