NC delegation visits slain teacher Deepak Chand's residence; offer condolences
10/9/2021 11:13:26 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 9: National Conference delegation led by the State Secretary Rattan Lal Gupta today visited the residence of the brutally and selectively assassinated teacher Deppak Chand and offered condolences on their irreparable loss.
The delegation expressed solidarity with the family and conveyed condolences on behalf of the President Dr Farooq Abdullah and the Vice President Omar Abdullah.
Describing the killings by terrorists a most heinous, barbaric and brutal act, Mr Gupta said that the crime against the humanity becomes more deplorable as the Principal Supinder Kour and Mr Deepak Chand were segregated from the other teachers in the school, primarily because of their religious affiliations, and gunned down.
"This is a brazen act of creating communal wedge and harmony between the communities to further the agenda of the terror regime", Gupta said adding that the peace loving and secular people of Jammu and Kashmir in general and the Valley in particular will defeat the machinations of terrorists by maintaining amity and brotherhood.
The State Secretary expressed grave concern over the recent target killings of a renowned pharmacy owner, a vendor and president of a transport association, saying the motive behind the brutal assassinations is just to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere and bring instability in Jammu and Kashmir.
The members of the delegation prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed their solidarity with the families of those killed in the Valley by terrorists.
Prominent among those present in the delegation included former legislators Bushan Lal Bhat and Bimla Luthra besides Vijay Laxmi Dutta, Anil Dhar, Abdul Gani Teli, MK Yogi, Vijay Lochan, Rita Gupta, Jatin Bhat, Tejinder Singh and M.L Munshi.
