Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 9: The Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has announced Jammu chalo programme on October 13.
EJAC leaders, Babu Sahil Malik, Darshan Magotra and Yashpal Sharma while talking to Early Times condemned the recent civilian killings in Kashmir and urged the government to address the issues of employees.
“Killing an unarmed government employee is no bravery, but terrorists want to send a message to their bosses that they have accomplished a big task by killing innocent souls. We are not scared and will not allow ultras to succeed in their nefarious designs.
We urge our employees working in Kashmir to remain firm on their ground to send a clear message that they can’t terrify us anymore,” said Yashpal Sharma.
President of EJAC Babu Sahil Malik said, “We have prepared a charter of demands and we will present it on October 13. Our main demand is that the government should frame a comprehensive policy for one lakh daily wagers in J&K. It’s unfortunate that these daily wagers, despite working so hard and risking their lives, are not provided with any benefits.”
Malik said that the government has not been able to frame any policy for these poor souls. “Erstwhile political regimes had announced various SROs for these daily wagers but during the past two years these SROs have been wiped off,” he added.
These leaders demanded that the government should address the issues of the employees and make them comfortable.
