Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 9: Expressing anger over the arrogant and egoistic attitude of the J&K administration while dealing with the sensitive situation, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) regretted that Babus busy in PR exercise have no time to visit the house of Deepak Chand, who was killed in a coward attack on Thursday. Deepak Chand along with the principal of his school Supinder Kour was killed in a gruesome attack on Thursday. “It is really shocking and inhuman that no senior officer has so far visited the bereaved family to console them at this juncture when they have lost their one of their member due to wrong policies of the J&K government”, Amreek Singh Reen, general secretary of J&K PDP said after visiting residence of Deepak Chand.
“During our interaction with the bereaved family, we came to know that the ill-fated family members have arranged body of Deepak Chand from Srinagar on their own”, Reen said and regretted that instead of assisting the family at that crucial time officers decided to maintain a distance.
“After getting information about the shocking incident on Thursday afternoon, the family rushed to Srinagar on their own. No one from the administration has contacted the family to provide them any assistance”, Reen said while quoting some family members of Deepak Chand. He further said that family members themselves brought the body from Srinagar without any help from the government.
“This episode has exposed insensitive and inhuman attitude of J&K administration”, Reen said, adding, “It appears that officers could not spare time from their busy schedule to appease visiting Union Ministers, who are on excursions in different parts of J&K when killings of innocents are going unabated”.
“Till date, no senior officer has visited Deepak Chand’s family because all officers are busy in providing protocols and luxuries to the team of union ministers”, Reen said.
Earlier PDP leaders led by Amreek Singh Reen visited the residence of Deepak Chand and expressed their condolences on the behalf of the party. Amreek Singh was accompanied by Sukhvinder Singh, Satpal Charak, Rajinder Manhas, and Sunil Bhat.
