School building, house partially gutted in separate fire incidents in last 24 hrs in Ramban

Jammu, Oct 10: A school building and a house were gutted in separate fire incidents in the last 24 hours in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban, P D Nitya said on Saturday night at around 2000 hours, an information was received that the school building of Girls Middle School located at Dedha Ind had caught fire.
“A police party rushed to the spot, on foot, while locals of the area tried to douse the fire,” she said.
In another incident, the house of one Munshi Ram of Dhedha and dry straw grass owned by a person namely Kiker singh of Dhedha, Tehsil Gool, had also been set ablaze by some unknown miscreants to create an atmosphere of fear, she said.
The officer said on reaching the spots, it was found that minor loss had occurred to the under construction house and some loss to the school building.
Pertinently, no loss of human life or injury has been reported while all the records lying at the school have been saved with the timely intervention of locals and police.
A case has been taken and investigation started, said the SSP.
