District admin finalises arrangements for celebration week of iconic festivals

KISHTWAR, Oct 10: District Administration Kishtwar today finalized the arrangements for “Week of Iconic festivals” being held in Jammu and Kashmir from October 23 till October 29, 2021 under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrut Mohatsav celebration (india@75).
District administration Kishtwar in collaboration with the Tourism department has planned to organise the Iconic Festival in the district on October 27, 2021. The arrangements in this regard were finalised at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma here at a meeting of the concerned district officers.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Sham Lal; CEO KDA/SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar; Chief Agriculture Officer, S K Bhagat; Chief Education Officer Rashpal Singh Chauhan; District Youth Services and Sports Officer K L Sharma; EO Municipality Taraq Balwan; Tehsildar Pramood Kumar; XEn PHE Anil Kaylu besides officials from education and JKAACL.
Threadbare discussion regarding the modalities for organising the iconic festival was held in the meeting.
The meeting was apprised that the iconic festival will witness three events of Saffron Plucking festival in Poochal area, Marathon for all age groups at Chowgan ground and the Cultural programme at Chowgan ground on the scheduled day.
Chief Agriculture Officer, who is nodal officer for saffron plucking festival, was asked to fine tune the arrangements in collaboration with local saffron growers for the celebration of the saffron plucking event with traditional gaiety and fervor. The DYSSO was asked to make arrangements for smooth conduct of Marathon for the All Age Group, while and Chief Education Officer was asked to collaborate with Jammu Kashmir Academy for Art Culture and languages to chalk out the modalities for cultural programme.
Chief Executive Officer KDA Inderjeet Singh Parihar and XEn PHE were asked to ensure the logistic support throughout the Iconic festival.
