| Ethics Committee GMCJ gives provisional clearance to synopsis, non-synopsis research projects | | |

JAMMU, Oct 11: Institutional Ethics Committee of GMC Jammu today gave provisional ethics clearance to synopsis, non-synopsis research projects in its full board meeting. Prof. (Dr) Ghanshyam Saini the officiating Chairman welcomed all the members of IEC and researchers in the meeting and stressed on quality research.
Prof. (Dr) Shashi Sudan Sharma, Principal and Dean encouraged the researchers to contemplate more and more quality research to bring research modules of GMC Jammu at par with national and international standards. She applauded the services of the executive members to the research which they are giving over and above their scheduled duties.
She said that for quality research all the logistic support and help shall be provided to the IEC GMC Jammu. She hoped that IEC shall stick to high standards and researchers shall be given adequate space and speedy clearance for start of genuine projects.
Prof. (Dr) Sanjay Kumar Bhasin, Member Secretary informed that in last about a year about 410 synopsis and non-synopsis got provisional ethical clearance and there are one dozen ongoing projects in GMC and Associated Hospitals under those approvals.
He further informed that mandatory registration of IEC with NECRBHR , MOH&FW, GoI has been done and a Provisional File Number has been allotted. He said that a separate IEC website shall be designed and our priority area shall be to ENCOURAGE the Researchers to undertake more and more Quality research projects within the ambit of SOPs of IEC and CDSCO guidelines.
