Int'l Day of Girl Child: DLSA Udhampur hosts awareness programme on BBBP for students

UDHAMPUR, Oct 11: In connection with the Pan India Awareness and Outreach Campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Udhampur, under the guidance of its Chairman, organized a campaign to Commemorate International Day of Girl Child.
The theme of the programme was "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao". The aim of the Programme was to raise Awareness about the issues related to Girl Child.
The DLSA Udhampur organized two programmes on the Subject here at Government Model Girls Hr. Secondary School and Bharti Vidya Mandir Hr. Secondary School, Udhampur. The students presented their views through extempore speeches on the subject.
Later, the Secretary DLSA Rajni Sharma felicitated the students and handed over certificates of appreciation and prizes to the participating students.
Thanking the students and the staff, the Secretary threw light on the role of girl child in the society and stressed upon various initiatives taken under "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao'' Campaign. The Principals of both the schools Renu Sharma and Pawan Slathia along with the school staff were also present in the Programme.
The Resource Persons of the Programme were Panel Lawyers Advocate Pawan Gupta, Advocate Akhil Dubey, Advocate Tanya Mahajan and Advocate Mallikarjun Singh Slathia. Para Legal Volunteers Rachana Devi, Sham Sharma, Avtar Singh and Rajinder Kumar were also present in the programme. The media fraternity from both print and electronic media attended the programme. Similar programmes on "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" were organized by TLSCs Ramnagar, Chenani and Majalta at their respective places.
