Modi govt committed to provide free ration to needy: Sat

JAMMU, Oct 11: Former Minister and ex-MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) distributed free ration under Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Ann Yojana (PMGKAY) amongst dozens of needy families at Ambphalla area of Ward 17 in a programme organized by local Councillor Nidhi Mangotra. Mandal President Raveesh Mengi, local residents and political activists of the area were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the government is bearing the entire cost of such distribution including food subsidy, intra-state transportation and dealer's margin/ additional dealers margin, without any sharing by States/UTs. He said the Modi government is committed to provide free ration amongst the needy and as a responsible activist of the party we have created ward wise teams for checking that the deserving people are getting the ration under the scheme, he added. He also stated that Congress ruled for decades but could not end poverty from the country but PM Narendra Modi right from his election has worked hard to eradicate poverty from the country and in just 7 years he reached out to every household through various Central schemes which has improved the lifestyle of the masses.
Nidhi Mangotra said that is committed to assist masses in every way possible and everything is being done to provide food to the needy in these tough times under the flagship scheme of PMGKAY. She also said that former MLA is in regular connect with the public of Jammu West and BJP activists all around Constituency are helping the public to avail benefits of various schemes. Raveesh Mengi, ex-Corporator Balwan Singh, Madan Pandey, Mohd Farooq and several others were also present on the occasion.
