Indian Red Cross Society distributes hygiene kits among underprivileged girls

JAMMU, Oct 11: On the occasion of International Girl Child Day, the Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region in collaboration with NGO SUPPORT distributed 150 hygiene kits and masks to the underprivileged girls and women in Khanpur, Nagrota and Psychiatric Hospital today. The distribution programme was undertaken in presence of Dr Shabnum and Dr Beema Sheikh (Medical Officer) to the in patients under the supervision of Principal Govt Medical College, Dr Shashi Sudan. Besides this Hygeine kits were also distributed in Nari Niketan to the girls and women present there. Girls received Cleaning and Hygiene kits, where they were also counselled on how to use them and how to improve menstrual hygiene with minimum resource by Dr Navnnet Kour, Executive Member, IRCS, Jammu Region, Founder, Chairperson of NGO SUPPORT and the National Chairperson of National Human Rights Social Justice Council of India and Vinod Malhotra, Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region guided them to keep clean environment and ensured them for their timely vaccination from IRCS, Jammu Region. The Red Cross team comprises of Ashok Chandel and others also explained the role of family, society and government in ensuring girls to have equal opportunities like education, health and hygiene as their basic human rights.
