Modi government committed to double income of farmers: Mahan Singh

BASOHLI, Oct 12: Col Mahan Singh (Retd) District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Kathua accompanied by Block Development Council (BDC) Chairperson Basohli, Sushma Jamwal distributed agriculture equipments worth over Rs. 12 lakh among the farmers at Plassi Panchayat in Basohli Sub District here today.
The equipment was procured as part of formation of machinery bank in this selected village Plassi and it comprised of 6 Power 9HP Reapers, Power Chaff cutters, Power tillers, Winnowing Fan which have been issued to a group of 10 farmers at 80 percent subsidized cost.
Mahan said that Modi government is fully committed to double the income of farmers across the country and in this regard there is no dearth of funds and the union government will take all the measures necessary to enhance their produce and income. He urged the farmers to use modern implements, adopt latest farming technology besides making use of hybrid seeds only for increasing the productivity of their crops.
