PHSC Chairman takes stock of people’s problems in Wards 53, 54

JAMMU, Oct 12: Chairman Public Health Sanitation Committee (PHSC) of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Narinder Singh Jamwal conducted a tour of Ward 53 and 54 to take stock of grievances of the people of the area especially the grievances pertaining to sanitation concerns.
During the tour, Jamwal was accompanied by the Gandhi Nagar BJP Mandal President and Corporator of ward 54, Neeraj Lucky Puri, Corporator of Ward 53 Jyoti Devi and the JMC staff. During his interaction with the residents of these areas, the Chairman was apprised by the people of their issues and problems pertaining to sanitation to him. They said that there is a dire need for maintaining optimum sanitation level in all areas especially to stop mosquito and other insects breeding.
They said that there are various spots that crave attention in the area as due to improper garbage disposal the heaps of garbage becoming healthy breeding grounds for mosquitoes. They impressed upon the need for extra caution in view of increasing cases of dengue and Chikunguniya cases at a time when the nation is already facing the ongoing Covid pandemic. Jamwal urged the people to become proactive partner in official endeavours of the government and its institutions like the JMC. He directed the JMC staff to clean the drains and lanes of the area at a fast pace and ensure that the same is followed by continuously fogging of the area.
