2nd phase of New India@75 campaign launched

JAMMU, Oct 12: 2nd Phase of New India @75 (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) campaign organized by National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India was virtually launched today across the country from New Delh.
The campaign was launched by the chief guest, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar, Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare.
An intensive country wide campaign ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ has been launched by Government of India, which focuses on citizen participation to be converted into a ‘Janandolan’ where small changes, at the local level, will add up to significant national gains.
In line with the Government of India’s country wide campaign, National AIDS Control Organization is also launching awareness campaigns on HIV & AIDS and Tuberculosis in a phased manner by engaging youth from across the country.
Under this initiative J&K AIDS Control Society (JKACS) also attended the launch of 2nd phase virtually with the active involvement from Schools, Colleges, NYKS, NGOs and staff of JKACS from Jammu and Srinagar participating in the event enthusiastically. Around three thousand people participated in the virtual launch ceremony of 2nd Phase of the Campaign from J&K who shall be carrying out the activities as per the plan.
The whole programme in J&K was carried out under the supervision of Dr Samir Mattoo, Project Director J&K AIDS Control Society, H&ME Department who ensured maximum participation of all the concerned especially youth. During the next one week various activities for generating awareness on HIV/AIDS and TB will be held across the UT of J&K by the collaborating organizations.
