DLSA Udhampur hosts awareness webinar on Rights of senior citizens

UDHAMPUR, Oct 12: District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur under the guidance of its Chairman, organized an awareness campaign on the Rights of Senior Citizens through Virtual Mode.
The Programme hosted in connection with the Pan India Awareness and Outreach Campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was aimed at to raise Awareness about the issues related to Senior Citizens and the problems faced by them. The DLSA Udhampur organised Five programmes through virtual Mode on the subject at Government Model Girls Hr. Secondary School, Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School, Government Higher Secondary School Tikri, Government Higher Secondary, Garhi, and Government Higher Secondary School Salmeri. The Resource Persons of the Programme were Panel Lawyers Advocate Pawan Gupta, Advocate Akhil Dubey, and Advocate Mallikarjun Singh Slathia. The resource persons highlighted the issues faced by the Old aged Citizens and legal means for their redressal. The Principals of the schools Nasib Singh, R.S Slathia, Sunil Sharma, Ajay Vashisht and Pawan Slathia along with the school staff were also present in the Programme.
The Resource Person Advocate Akhil Dubey (Panel Lawyer) while thanking the students and the staff threw light on the Rights of the Senior Citizens in the society and stressed upon the need to safeguard the same. The students who spoke in the programme were later felicitated by ranking them 1st, 2nd 3rd. The rest of the students were awarded with certificates of appreciation by Advocate Akhil Dubey (Panel Lawyer). Smridhi was adjudged 1st, Tamana Akbar stood 2nd and Anjali Sambyal stood at 3rd. Similar Programmes were also organized at TLSC Ramnagar, TLSC Chenani and TLSC Majalta.
