Training program for farmers held at village Paryote in Doda

DODA, Oct 12: A training program for farmers was today organised by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare here at village Paryote of Doda district under Soil Health card scheme (NMSA).
The Programme was organised under the guidance of the Chief Agriculture Officer, Anil Gupta and under the overall supervision of Director Agriculture Jammu K K Sharma. Block Development Council Chairman Khaleeni Munish Kumar presided over the function, while District Agriculture officer Haroon Hussain was guest of honour on the occasion.
About 30 farmers of Paryote A and B attended the programme.
The Chief Guest spoke at length about the agriculture sector and advised the farmers to take the maximum possible benefits from government schemes as it is the only sector which has scope in the area. He also asked for holding more such camps in his block as it can help in increasing the awareness regarding government schemes.
District Agriculture officer, Haroon Hussain gave a detailed lecture on the importance of Soil Health Card scheme. He advised the farmers to get their soil tested at an earliest as it can help them improve the health of different crops grown by them. He also answered the different queries raised on the occasion and assured to solve all matters in a phased manner.
Sarpanch Paryote A Rajinder Rukwal and Sarpanch Paryote B Sandeep Manhas also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the department for the organisation of awareness camps in the area.They also demanded more such camps in other areas also.
Earlier, Junior Agriculture Extension Officer, Manjeet Manhas briefed the farmers about the aims and objectives of the programme. AEA Mushroom scheme Wasim Raja delivered a lecture on the benefits of Mushroom cultivation. SDAO Pranoo Kuldeep Bhasan spoke about the ongoing schemes being implemented in the district.
At the end organic fertilizer was also distributed among the farmers present on the occasion.
