JMC launches sanitation drive in Mubarak Mandi Complex

JAMMU, Oct 12: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in its continuous efforts to ensure sanitation in Jammu city, launched a sanitation drive under Swachhata Pakhwada 2021 initiative in Mubarak Mandi Complex.
Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta, Dy Mayor, Purnima Sharma, Chairman, Public Health and Sanitation Standing Committee, Narinder Singh, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Raghav Langar, Commissioner, JMC, Avny Lavasa and Health Officer, Dr Sanjogita Soodan participated. Under the drive, stretch, spots surrounded with waste and bushes were cleared/ cleaned. Prominent Citizens of Society, NSS Volunteers and sanitation staff of JMC took part in the drive in order to create awareness of cleanliness among masses. Various slogans were designed to bring focus to the core concerns of the Swachh Bharat campaign like ban of plastic, use of dustbins and keeping the public places clean.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor stated that JMC is implementing scheme regarding 'Plastic Lao, Thaila Pao' in every ward of Jammu for which children are being involved as the children is the future of the nation and their participation is vital in the sanitation drives and added that such drives spread the message of Swachh Bharat Mission in the entire city. The Commissioner, JMC while speaking on the occasion stated that the aim of launching sanitation drive is to give extra focus on sanitation point of view and Mubarak Mandi has been chosen for today's sanitation drive, as this is a iconic monument of the Jammu City and cleaning this monument will spread the message among the general masses the importance of sanitation.
