Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 13: Delegation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers/Masters Association (JKTMA) met Joint Director School Education Jammu H.R Pakhroo under the chairmanship of State President Rakesh Singh and State General Secretary Vivek Gupta to project some genuine grievances of teaching community by submitting memorandum in this regard. Singh while interacting with the Joint Director explained in detail the resentment among Teaching community regarding Circular No: 10-Edu Dated 21/09/2021 regarding Pursuance of Education by Teacher, which debarred post facto permission to such Teachers who are admitted in the course after 30/12/2020 which has put teachers in despair because it denied them opportunity to enhance qualifications who are already enrolled between 30/12/2020 to 21/09/2021. Singh urged to Joint Director to appraise the Principal Secretary School Education Department B.K Singh to re-consider cut of date as 21/09/2021 in circular instead of 30/12/2021 as date of issue of circular is 21/09/2021 and implementation of this circular from retrospective effect cannot be justified. Further Singh also demanded that it should be clarified whether this circular is only for pursuing regular course or also for distance course as there is ambiguity in circular in this regard. Delegation also invited attention of Joint Director to the issue of DPC of Teachers and reiterated there long pending demand of DPC of only regular degree holders in science stream by excluding Distance degree holders except those who enrolled prior to December 2005 as a one time exemption as per order no 252-HE of Higher Education Department and demanded fast track DPC of Teachers and Masters to Lecturers as there are large number of Posts of Lectures are lying vacant in Higher secondary schools particularly in Science Stream which has adversely affected the studies of Students specially in rural areas.
