Union MoS Sanjeev Balyan concludes two day visit of district Samba

SAMBA, Oct 13: Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Dr Sanjeev Kumar Balyan today concluded his two day visit of district Samba with inauguration of Primary Health Centre at Utterbehni, interaction with sheep/goat rearers, local public delegations and distribution of fish seeds under centrally sponsored schemes.
Dr. Balyan inaugurated the Primary Health Centre Utterbehni constructed at a cost of Rs 6 crore having double story building which will cater to the medical health needs of the local population. The PHC has 18700 sq feet area with 24 bedded wards, labour room, baby care unit, ECG room, OT (minor) room, x-ray room besides residential and administrative offices.
The Minister during the visit distributed fish seeds among beneficiaries at Birpur Community Pond under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) as a part of Aatm Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. Dr. Balyan said that under PMMSY, all aspects of fish production and productivity, post harvest infrastructure and strengthening of value chain, establishing a robust fisheries management framework and fishers welfare are covered.
Later, the Minister held interaction with local delegations and addressed their genuine demands and issues. MoS directed administration Samba to resolve the local issues at the earliest besides the matter requiring centre govt intervention may be forwarded with document to his office. The Minister laid emphasis upon establishing a people friendly administration as it is the prime objective of Central Government for enabling governance at doorstep.
Dr Balyan also held interaction with the sheep and goat rearers at Mandal village of Purmandal. He felicitated vaccination team of Samba for 100% Covid vaccination feat and also carried out a plantation drive at the PHC premises.
During the visit District Development Council Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma, Vice Chairman DDC Balwan Singh, Deputy Commissioner Samba Ms. Anuradha Gupta, Director Animal Husbandry Jammu Doifode Sagar Dattaray, SSP Samba Rajesh Sharma besides BDC chairman, DDC members Sarpanches and locals were also present
