Tony, Randhawa, Manjit pay tributes to Poonch Martyrs

JAMMU, Oct 13: Taranjit Singh Tony, DDC Member Suchetgarh along with former MLC Vikram Randhawa and Manjit Singh, Provincial President J&K Apni Party paid tributes to the five soldiers including one JCO who attained martyrdom while fighting with heavily armed terrorists in a forest area at Surankote in Poonch district.
“We salute the valour of Jaswinder Singh Naib Subedar from Kapurthala, Punjab; Mandeep Singh, Naik, Gurdaspur, Punjab; Gajjan Singh Sepoy, Ropar, Punjab; Saraj Singh, Sepoy, Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh and Vaisakh H, Sepoy, Kollam, Kerala and bow before the courage of their families”, they said while paying glorious tributes to them.
Tony demanded that the schools, colleges and roads at their respective states should be renamed after these Martyrs who gave supreme sacrifices in line of duty. He also appealed to the state governments from where these Martyrs were belonging that special Identity/priority cards should be issued to their kins for easy entry into the government offices to get their issues addressed and resolved.
Manjit said that the country will never forget the supreme sacrifice made by the valiant soldiers of Indian Army. “The indebted nation has all along been bowing their heads with respect and deep esteem for the sacrifices made by soldiers,” he said, adding that martyrs will continue to inspire generations for serving the nation in whatever capacity they can.
Randhawa said that the martyrdom of brave-hearts reminds the crucial need of working towards peace and striving for shaping a better future for humanity. “The biggest tribute to great heroes is to create a world wherein people live in peace and harmony. At the same time, the civilized nations had to stand united for defeating the scourge of terror and violence that has emerged as biggest challenge to the global community.”
