SRINAGAR, Oct 15: R K Singh, Union Minister of Power, New & Renewable Energy visited the dam site of 330 MW NHPC Kishanganga Power Station at Gurez in Bandipora district. He was accompanied by S K G Rahate, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, A K Singh, CMD, NHPC and Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary, Power Development Department, J&K.
The union minister and other dignitaries were welcomed by Dr. Owais Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, senior officers of NHPC Kishanganga Power Station and other district administration officials. The union minister and other dignitaries were welcomed by Ashish Kumar Chouksey, General Manager, HoP, NHPC Kishanganga Power Station and other senior officers of NHPC Kishanganga Power Station on their arrival at dam site the minister was accorded ceremonial guard of honor by Central Industrial Security Force personnel. The union minister inspected various components of dam and spillway. He also inspected construction work of dam toe power house and was briefed about the progress of works. During the visit the minister also interacted with the representatives of the local people. |
