GGZSMDC Reasi celebrates Global Hand Washing Day

JAMMU, Oct 15: Global Hand Washing Day is celebrated every year on 15th October to spread awareness about importance of hand washing. It is an international hand washing promotion campaign to motivate and mobilize people around the world to improve their hand washing habits. Washing hands at critical points during the day and washing with soap are both important. In the current scenario of spread of Covid-19, hand washing with soap has emerged as an important tool to stop the spread of the virus.
An online slogan writing competition for celebrating “Global Hand Washing Day “ was organized in Govt General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College (GGZSMDC) Reasi today under the patronage of the Principal of the college, Dr Chander Shekhar Gupta. The theme of the event was “Clean hands for all”. The event was a part of series of events that are being organized in connection with “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
First position was bagged by Priya Lakhnotra of B.Sc Sem V, second by Antriksha of B.Sc Sem 1 and third by Palk Bharti of B.A Sem I. Merit certificates were issued to participants at three merit positions.
The event was organized by Prof Kewal Krishan, Coordinator, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Dr Anu Sharma, NCC officer (Girls) and Dr Amit Bali, NSS Prog. officer. Principal of the college, congratulated the winners of the event as well as the participants for their participation in the event with full zeal and enthusiasm.
