Early Times Report

Udhampur, Oct 15: No medical shops remain open during night hours at Ramnagar here due to which people needing medicines in case of emergency face immense problems.
Locals said that earlier, a fair price shop used to remain open during night hours at Sub District Hospital Ramnagar. The shop was managed by the Cooperative Department.
“The fair price shop was closed but in the same year Sanyog pharmacy, which offered 10-40 % discount to people, started functioning in the hospital. But after the contract was over the shop closed down,” locals said, adding that since then there is no 24x7 pharmacy in the area. “The Jan Aushodhy shop in the hospital also remains shut at night. The shop has no adequate medicines available,” locals added. They urged the district administration to look into the matter and provide Ramnagar area with a pharmacy that would remain open 24x7.
When contacted, Chief Medical Officer K C Dogra said that the administration is looking into the matter and the issue will be resolved soon.
