Early Times Report

Srinagar, Oct 15: Ahead of High-profile visits, the terrorist organizations operating in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) always attempt to strike in Jammu and Kashmir to establish their presence.
According to data available with Early Times, the terrorist organizations not only attempted to disturb the law and order but have been trying to create fear psychosis among the people of Jammu and Kashmir ahead or after these High-profile visits,
In a recent development, a terrorist group has reportedly infiltrated into Rajouri sector with the help of Pakistani Army and ISI trainees despite a ceasefire on Line of Control. The group was engaged in a gunfight by the security forces. 7 Jawans got martyred in this gunfight and the operation is on since then
Pertinent to mention here that last week the reports of Home Minister Amit Shah visiting Jammu and Kashmir emerged. After these reports, the terrorists targeted minority members and killed 5 civilians, 4 of them belonging to minority communities.
Off late, BJP President Ravinder Raina on Friday held a meeting to review the arrangements being done for Home Minister Amit Shah’s rally in Jammu.
Political factors, such as the visits of leaders to Kashmir, change of guard in key security establishments on both sides and more often elections also frustrate terrorists and they strive to show their presence, experts say.
In 2016, when General Bajwa took over as COAS of Pakistani Army, terrorists in an attempt to appease him perpetrated the Nagrota attack. As many as seven soldiers, including two army officers were martyred in this attack.
Similarly in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, terrorists targeted security forces and civilians during and after the visits of Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister, Interlocutors’ visit and EU delegation’s visit to sabotage peace and attempted to disturb peace, however since nineties the security forces particularly Indian Army is sabotaging the nefarious designs of terrorists.
Linking high-profile visits to the region and ceasefire violations, experts say that strategic and political developments are a major reason for ceasefire violations and terrorist attacks.
