JAMMU, Oct 21: A grand function was organized to lay the foundation stone of Havaldar Sarup Singh Memorial Dwar at Upper Gadi Garh. Havaldar Sarup was the Mahavir Chakra awardee of 1962 INDO-CHINA war, who gave his sacrifice while resisting against the mighty Chinese army (PLA) at Bhujang POST in Ladakh with his Platoon.
Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor was the Chief Guest on his occasion who raised the curtain and laid the foundation stone in presence of Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor. A huge galaxy of prominent citizens, councilors of various wards of JMC were also present to witness the function with zeal and patriotism.
