Police Commemoration Day observed in District Police Lines Reasi

Reasi, Oct 21: National Police Day popularly known as Police Commemoration Day was observed today at Martyrs Memorial district police lines Reasi wherein the bravery of Martyrs was remembered for their sacrifice for the nation. Rich tribute were paid to all the Martyrs of Police and Paramilitary force who made Supreme sacrifice in the line of duty for the unity and integrity of the nation in last one year.
Contingents of Police and Paramilitary forces participated in the Commemoration day Parade at DPL in which Saraf Singh Nag DDC Chairman Reasi, S Charandeep Singh Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nisar Hussain CO 126 Bn CRPF, Shiv Deep Singh CO IR 1st, Lt Col. Parvesh 14 Sec RR, Sudesh Puri Chairman MC Reasi also paid tributes & offered wreaths to the Martyrs alongwith other prominent citizens .
Shailender Singh Senior Superintendent of Police Presided over the Parde function and read the ‘Roll of Honour’ names of the Martyrs of Police and Paramilitary forces of the country.
Singh in his speech remembered the Supreme sacrifices of 21 October 1959 in which ten Police Personals laid down their lives in an ambush by chinese troops on Indo-China border in Ladakh and on November 28, 1959 their mortal remains were handed over to India and their Commemoration was held with full military honour at hot springs in Ladakh. The names of Martyrs of the year were read by the officer and rich tributes were paid to them who sacrificed their today for our tomorrow.
