Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 21: A special programme was organised at Kotranka by Block Medical Officer Kandi Dr Iqbal Malik celebrating a landmark milestone of 100 Crore COVID-19 vaccination doses in India.
Dr Malik expressed his gratitude to all the health workers for their contribution in this extraordinary feat.
‘We salute our COVID Warriors, our Healthcare and Frontline Workers who have worked day and night to help us achieve this Vaccine Century. He added Block Kandi is known for its persistent efforts and innovative approach in vaccination of lesser accessible and far-flung areas.
Realising the vision of Director Health Services Jammu Dr Renu Sharma and goals set by CMO Rajouri Dr Shamim Bhatti, the heath teams in Kandi adopted a holistic approach covering all the regions from markets, scattered houses in the villages and High Mountain reaches.
In June 2021, Health Block Kandi adopted a unique innovative approach where the teams visited door to door in every house for vaccination irrespective of the weather and terrain. This gave a massive boost to vaccination exercise. This model was not only replicated in other districts of J&K but it was also adopted in other states of India and this innovative approach had received appreciation from honourable Lieutenant Governor Sh Manoj Sinha. Governor.
Dr. Malik BMO Kandi said that the credit goes to every staff member of Block Kandi who worked tirelessly for several months to achieve this target.
Dr Malik also said that the continuous directions from Sh Rajesh K Shavan (KAS), DM Rajouri remain extremely helpful during this whole exercise.
