Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 21: Nearly 600 candidates from Jammu region selected for the job of Panchayat Accounts Assistants are waiting to join the department as their CID investigation has not been completed yet. The selected candidates being left in lurch has punctured the tall claims of the fast recruitment process.
According to the details available with Early Times the advertisement for the posts of Panchayat Accounts Assistants were released on July 6, 2020, subsequently August 31, 2020 was the last date for filling up the forms, In November 2020, results were declared and final selection list was declared in July 2021.
After the list was out the selected candidates were asked to submit their verification rolls for the CID verification. In Kashmir region the CID has completed the enquiries but in Jammu, the verification is still pending.
Selected candidates have no idea about how long CID will take to complete the process and when they will be able to join the department.
“Earlier when final selection lists were made public, the candidates were asked to join, but their salaries were not released till the verification process was over. Despite that provision still being there these selected candidates have been kept lingering,” said an official.
It’s in place to mention here that these posts were to be filled on a fast track basis but nearly eleven months have elapsed and the process is still incomplete. “We have no clue about where the CID verification process has reached. They should at least upload the status about the details of our verification process,” the selected candidates said.
