J&KSLCA organizes workshop for SHOs of Jammu Division

JAMMU, Oct 22: An online workshop was organized by Jammu & Kashmir State Level Coordinating Agency (J&KSLCA) in collaboration with National Institute of Social Defense (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MOSJE), Govt. of India for SHOs of Jammu Division. The topic for online session was “Preventive factors against substance abuse”. More than 60 participants participated in online session. Resource person for webinar was Dr Vinay Kumar.
Training session started with inaugural speech by NISD host, Prerna Chowdhary. She introduced herself and her organization and motive of online session. Then, Resource person with the help of PowerPoint Presentation educated participants about Narcotic and Psychotropic drugs. He briefly explained about National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Role of Police department in dealing with drug users and drug peddlers, Laws related to drugs (NDPS Act). SHOs from 5 districts of Jammu Division actively participated and cooperated in the workshop including 10 SHOs and police officials of Jammu district, 11 SHOs and police officials from Rajouri District, 11 SHOs and police officials from Kathua District, 6 SHOs from Samba District and 6 from Poonch district.
Workshop ended with discussion and Question-answer session. Resource person patiently solved all the queries of participants. Overall workshop was very interactive and knowledgeable and participants including SHOs and other police officials were very cooperative. Prerna concluded the workshop with vote of thanks to worthy resource person and participants.
