‘Babus made lives of Jammuities miserable, Amit Shah needs to take note’
10/22/2021 11:20:17 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 22: Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, who is visiting Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday to review the security and to take a stock of the development projects after J&K’s transition into a Union Territory, needs to know about the ground realities of Jammu region also.
The Union Home Minister is visiting J&K for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. “The Home Minister needs to know that bureaucrats handling J&K affairs have made the lives of Jammu people miserable. For the first time in the past so many years, businessmen in the Jammu region were forced to observe a shutdown against the anti-people policies of the helmsmen,” said an observer.
He said that the arbitrary decisions like scrapping of 149-year old Darbar Move practice, giving preference to non-locals in all sorts of works and contracts, levying more taxes, setting up toll plazas and other moves, have pushed Jammuties to the brink.
“The Union Home Minister needs to take note of all these issues and help the nationalist people of Jammu, who have always stood by the country and have endorsed all the decisions of the Centre.
When Article 370 was revoked, people of Jammu had celebrated the move with a hope that their miseries would end, but during the past two years their hopes have been dashed,” the observer added.
He demanded that the Government of India (GoI) should act against the bureaucrats, who are hell bent upon undoing the good work done by the GoI.
