District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Jammu dismayed over change of venue of HM's visit
11/6/2021 10:40:30 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 6: In a meeting held under the District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Jammu, all the committee members and members of different Sikh organizations came together to discuss various issues. The participants condemned the killing of Sikh leader S Tarlochan Singh Wazir and expressed solidarity and their full support with the family of Wazir.
Addressing a press conference S. Jagjeet Singh President DGPC Jammu said that questions have been raised by the family as why the programme was shifted to Digiana Ashram Gurduwara Sahib and under whose supervision did it happen. The program was being handled by the organizers and it was told to the District Gurduwara Prabandhak Committee that Home Minister will be visiting Gurduwara Chand Nagar Sahib but later on without any information provided to the DGPC Jammu it was shifted at the 11th hour.
"We were not against the change of the program location and schedule but the way the event was mismanaged by one person and how he hijacked the entire program without allowing any of the representatives of the Sikh community to address the issues and the problems faced by the minority Sikh community in J&K to the Home Minister," said the Sikh leaders.
The memorandum was not even addressed to the Home Minister or even the Sikh community present in the Gurdwara at that time which showed that how the entire program was manipulated and mismanaged by a single person and was not discussed with any of the elected Sikh organizations who represent the Sikh community. Elected members body of DGPC Jammu condemned and were furious about the process it was managed.
