Mayor starts macadamization work in Rajpura area of Ward No 29

JAMMU, Nov 9: Continuing his endeavour to provide better development and civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Mayor Jammu Chander Mohan Gupta along with Surnider Singh Chowdhary Councillor of Ward No 29 today kick started the macadamization work in Lane No 17 and its adjoining areas near Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Rajpura Mangotarian.
Mukesh Gupta, Junior Engineer and other supervisory staff of Engg Division–II JMC, Booth presidents namely Hira Lal, Suresh Gupta and Som Nath of the Ward No 29, as well as prominent inhabitants of Rajpura Mangotarian and its adjoining localities also accompanied the Mayor during the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the locals as well as president of Shree Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Rajpura as it is a thorough fare which connects with the main Rajpura Chowk and people were facing great hardships due to deteriorated condition of the lane. Besides this, devotees in large number visit this Sabha on routine basis for attending social/religious functions. He further added that the concerned Councillor of the ward has taken keen interest and after his sincere efforts, this much awaited black topping work has been started today by the Engg Wing of the JMC with an allotted amount of Rs 8 lakh only and assured the locals that all the remaining lanes leading to this Sabha will be macadamized in a phased manner. Surinder Chowdhary, Councillor of the ward also spoke on the occasion and said that he is committed to make Ward No 29 really a model ward. President of the Shree Ravi Dass Sabha Rajpura also thanked the Mayor for visiting the area and redressing their issues.
