DC Reasi reviews progress of registration of Pony, Pithoo & Palki operators

REASI, Nov 12: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Charandeep Singh today chaired a meeting to review the progress in the re-registration of Pony, Pithoo and Palki Operators, here on Friday.
The meeting was attended by DFO, Jyotsana; SDM Katra, Abhishek Sharma; CEO KDA, Preeti Sharma; SDPO Kuljeet Singh; CAHO, Abdul President SPCA Om Parkash along with other district officers.
On the outset, the SDM Katra informed that 1483 Pony Wallas, 643 Pithoo Wallas and 282 Palki wallas forms have been received so far.
The DC said that a registered Pony Operator can only transfer his registration card to his family/bloodline member based on Socio economic and health factors. He added that a registered Pony operator must himself give a declaration and submit the affidavit with a certified doctor certificate family/ bloodline members with all the requisite documents for new registration with bank/registration fee.
He reiterated that in case of change in Pony/horse, the pony operator must give a declaration in writing about the cause of change as per the affidavit and updated medical certificate of Pony/Mule/Horse from Veterinary Doctor to be submitted at Chetak Bhawan.
The concerned officers were asked to construct shelters at suitable places for stray cattle heads as well as equines by Pony wallas in Katra town.
Charandeep Singh added that the land should be identified for the burial of equines, so that the disease may not spread or effect to others as well.
