J&K Shiromani Akali Dal meets Home Minister | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 16: A deputation under the chairmanship of S. Darbinder Singh, President Jammu & Kashmir Shiromani Akali Dal met Home Minister Amit Shah and apprised him about the grievances faced by the Sikh Community at large in J&K. The deputation submitted a memorandum to him for consideration and early action. The Shiromani Akali Dal has appealed for restoration statehood status to Jammu & Kashmir, Punjabi language be given the status of official language in Jammu & Kashmir, a High Court Judge be appointed from Sikh community, a Sikh representative/advisor must be in the ambit of administration to represent the community, out of eight seats for assembly and two seats for parliament, four seats of assembly and one of parliament be allotted to Sikhs of Jammu province and four seats of assembly and one of parliament be allotted to Sikhs of Kashmir province. The deputation demanded that the quota for recruitment be fixed to provide the job to educated unemployed who belong to Sikh minority community, representation to Sikhs in the Public Service Commission Member and Service Selection Board.
