GDC Ramgarh organizes students' visit to Shri Gurudwara Sahib Raika | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Nov 16: To commemorate the 552th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji, Govt Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh organized a visit to Shri Gurudwara Sahib, Raika (Swankha) under the banner of 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav'. This holy visit entailed no of other religious activities like paying tribute to Shri GuruNanak Dev ji, Community Kitchen service (Langar Sewa), listen and contemplate the precepts and preaching of Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji. Students and staff members attentively listen the preachings and also participated in langar sewa (community feast). These are recorded as mesmerizing moments in the memories of students and staff members as the respected Gurudwara Committee had arranged the event in a much planned manner. Sermons were delivered by the Baba Ghar Singh, Head Granthi. Gurdeep Singh, Pradhan Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, Raika appreciated the visit of GDC Ramgarh and threw light on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji. Gurunek Singh, Secretary Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, Raika laid thrust on the ideas of equality and humanitarian principles advocated by Guru Nanak Dev ji throughout His Life. Gurjeet Singh, Sarpanch Raika spoke on the role of Guru Nanak Dev ji to alleviate the problem of Sati Pratha and preached the idea of women equality. Malkeet Kaur, B.A Sem-III and Sandeep Kaur, B.A. Sem-I also spoke on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji. The whole event was organized under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Meeru Abrol, Principal of the College. Prof Risha Kumari, presented the vote of thanks. |
