Director Horticulture reviews physical, financial achievements under CAPEX | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Nov 16: To have a complete review of Horticulture activities as well as physical and financial achievements under Capex/UT CSS in respect of District Ramban and Udhampur, a review meeting was chaired by Director Horticulture, Jammu Ram Savak, today at Ramban and Udhampur respectively, wherein officers and officials of the department attended the meeting . At the outset, the Chief Horticulture Officer, Ramban Vaishno Kant Gupta presented an overview of the District and apprised about the achievements made by the department under different ongoing Horticulture developmental schemes for the upliftment of the farming community. Director Horticulture Jammu, while taking a review of the ongoing schemes, exhorted upon the field staff to serve this sacred department with zeal and dedication in their respective areas of operation and disseminate the developmental schemes of the department to the last possible farmer of the district. Director Horticulture also inspected the developmental activities in the ACHD farm and issued on spot instructions to Rajesh Dhar, Farm Manager, ACHD. He stressed for optimum utilization of land in the farm for production of quantity and quality of planting material of improved cultivars of proven performance. Further, while taking a review of the progress in respect of implementation of CAPEX & UT Centrally Sponsored Schemes in district Udhampur, the Chief Horticulture Officer Udhampur Salil Kumar Gupta appraised the chair about the status of various works and detail of physical and financial progress made under different Departmental Schemes. Director Horticulture impressed upon all the officers to expedite the works undertaken for the development of the departmental nurseries and achieve the targets allotted under different schemes up to ending December 2021 so as to incur full expenditure well in time. He emphasised to glamorize the Horticulture Profession and to make a shift from Traditional Horticulture to Smart Horticulture by adopting the latest innovations like Modified High Density Plantation, Strawberry cultivation, Micro-irrigation technologies, Protected Cultivation techniques, Organic farming and Mechanization. At last, all the officers of both the districts assured the chair to extend full co-operation and vowed to work hard for the betterment of farming community and achieve the targets in time. |
