RAJOURI, Nov 16: With an aim to promote, revive and dissemination of dying folk performing art forms of Dogri, Pahari, Gojri and Bhaderwahi, Samooh Theatre today held a mega cultural event in collaboration with Kunj-e-Adab, a social and cultural organization here at Panchayat Lamberi, District Rajori. In this mega cultural event various local folk artists enthralled the audience by giving their mesmerizing performances in Gojri, Dogri, Pahari and Punjabi music and dance while the prominent poets including Pervez Malik Shahbaz waseem, Sarwar Khayali, Sabar Nadeem, Rafi Shabnam spellbound the audience with the presentation and recitation of their poetry in Gojri, Dogri and Pahari languages. The folk parties who presented well choreographed folk dances were Irshad Choudhary and party, Rukhsana Khan and party besides the singers including Gulnaz Chouhan, Sadaqat Ali Bijran, Rukhsana Khan,Waqar Ch, Mohd Riyaz, Parwaz Sawathi, Yasir Irqan, Rukhsana Koser Ch, Liaqat Hussain, Qayoom Ch and Maqbool Hussain. Proceedings of the programme were conducted by the noted young poet Sabar Hussain Nadeem, who also recited his poetry. Earlier, Dr Sudhir Mahajan, founder Samooh presented welcome address and gave the brief and objectives of the organization. The guests who attended the function were Vikram Koushal Naib Tehsildar Lamberi, Parampreet Singh Naib Tehsildar Rajal, Sarpanch Sangeeta Sharma, Sarpanch Nazima Shaheen, Sunita Raina DDC, Sunil Raina and Ali Raza I/c Police Post Lamberi. Anita Chandpuri, Secretary Samooh presented the vote of thanks.
