JKMEF to resume suspended strike from Nov 19

JAMMU, Nov 18: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) Jammu has decided to resume its suspended strike from November 20 at Director Health Services Complex, Jammu following which a chain hunger strike from November 23 will commence.
The announcement to resume the strike was made by Sushil Sudan (President JKMEF, Member PCI) while addressing a press conference here today at Press Club of Jammu.
Sudan said that the main demands of Health employees are Departmental Promotion Committee (Promotions) of all categories of Health Employees which is getting delayed since 4 years besides amendment in SRO-20.
He said that it is pertinent to mentioned here that on 05-08-2021, the representatives of JKMEF reached an agreement on Departmental Promotion Committee of all categories of Health employees and amendment in SRO -20 with the then Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary Health and Medical Education) Atal Dulloo, at Kashmir. Then JKMEF suspend the ongoing peaceful protest after assurance from Dulloo that DPC rules will be frame within 15 days but till date it was not done and administrative department totally fails to frame the rules of promotion and leaving us no other choice then to resume protest again.
Furthermore, during the Covid-19 pandemic LG of UT Jammu & Kashmir rewarded the services of doctors and paramedical staff and in-light of this sanctioned rewarding amount @Rs 10,000 for doctors, Rs 7000 for paramedical staff and Rs 5,000 for drivers and class IV employees vide Govt Order No 360 JK (HME) of 2021 dated 04-05-2021 but till date not even a single health warrior is rewarded and order of the govt is yet to get wings. Those who attended the press conference included Parfulat Singh, RP Singh, Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, Madan Lal Sharma, Ch. Aslam Bhai, Mohd Nadeem, Sanjay Khajuria, Jarnail Singh, Harpal Singh, Kamal Sawhney, Dharminder Singh, Pawan Singh Jamwal and others.
