PAGD rejected magisterial inquiry in Hyderpora encounter, demand time bound Judicial inquiry
11/18/2021 10:09:30 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Nov 18: The Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) on Thursday rejected the magisterial inquiry announced by the Jammu and Kashmir government in the Hyderpora "encounter" and instead demanded a time bound judicial inquiry into the matter.
"We are not going to accept the magisterial inquiry", the spokesperson of the PAGD Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said while addressing a press conference in Srinagar at the Gupkar residence of Farooq Abdullah , who is also the chairman of the alliance of several parties in Kashmir.
"Those who are committing crime cannot be the judges to conduct the inquiry" Tarigami said.
"We are demanding a time bound credible judicial inquiry only to instill confidence among the people and rejecting the authorities announced magisterial inquiry ", Tarigami said.
He said, those who have "committed" the crime should be "booked under the land of law."
"Who so ever, even on any top post, committed the crime are all law violators and the constitution of the land should take a stern action against them under the land of the law", Tarigami said.
He said, the authorities are not allowing to conduct dignified and proper burial of their loved ones getting killed in encounters or cross firing in the pretext of law and order which is against the norms of the law of the land and even against the teachings of the religion.
"It is the constitutional right of every citizen to be buried with dignity and under the norms of the religion", he added.
He said, we were not allowed to meet the family members of Hyderpora "encounter" victims to convey our condolences.
Tarigami said, "if the water exceeds and flows over a glass, it could have serious repercussion …don't take our courage for granted ..stop stop….it is enough"
"We will knock every door of justice, if it becomes necessary we will meet the President of India and inform him about the serious situation of Kashmir", Tarigami added.
He said, we will not allow Kashmir to become the place of graveyards.
He said it is unfortunate that Mehbooba Mufti was placed under house arrest
