Creating Gujjar-Pahari conflict won't solve problems of anyone: Ronik Sharma | | | Early Times Report POONCH, Nov 22: All Jammu and Kashmir Pahari Tribe Joint Forum strongly condemned the statement made by a prominent person of Gujjar community in an online debate, who had also remained on very senior positions in government. In a hand out, president of the Forum, Advocate Ronik Sharma said that it is very unfortunate to say that such a tall personality from a particular community opposing Schedule Tribe status for Hindu-Sikh communities in J&K. He said the President of India is the supreme authority to decide the fate of Pahari tribe either they deserve or not, nobody else can decide. The Government of India is well aware about the facts and figures and grave injustice done to Pahari tribe. He further said that our fight is not against any particular community, caste and religion. We are fighting for our identity which the government of India had denied us so far and failed to provide us justice and equality. Pahari tribe surely deserves all legitimate and legal rights without the interference of anybody. Sharma further suggested and request all the community members particularly to the media that this is a high time and first of its kind that BJP dispensation has made a promise to give reservation to Pahari community irrespective of their geography, religion. There are fringe elements within the community who are pressing hard for their petty political gains to dislodge and create a confusion which has been created from last seven decades in Jammu and Kashmir. "I would strongly urge and request the Pahari community not to fall in the trap of people who are the beneficiaries of this conflict and just because of their mere political gains they are out to create a divide which will further alienate the Pahari and the people of Jammu and Kashmir," he added. |
