Shamshaan Ghat shed at Bhour Camp demolished, encroached : SEWA

JAMMU, Nov 22: Shamshaan Enlightenment Welfare Association (SEWA), working with the matters related to Shamshaan Ghats (Cremation Ground/s) conditions and facilities available to the society as a welfare measure expressed anguish with great concern that area of Shed demolished earlier at Shamshaan Ghat Bhour Camp (Jammu) has been encroached by constructing concrete plinth. It is concerned directly with general public and has deeply hurt the sentiments of people of all walks. This act also seems to extend their boundaries upto existing road crossing through Shamshaan Ghat.
Jagdish Kumar Sharma, President SEWA, Amrit Bali, ex-Sarpanch, ex-ZEPO Hem Raj Ranyal, Rohit Khajuria and others objected the act of encroachment but encroachers denied and replied that they are constructing boundary to their land. In this connection Tehsildar Jammu South was informed on mobile number 9622311712, SDM Jammu South was informed on mobile number 8825054078 besides the DC Office was also initmated on landline number 01912544366 for immediate action on the matter of encroachment.
People of the society in general and members of SEWA in particular requested higher authorities to consider the matter seriously and resolve the issue immediately before the condition worsens and untoward incident took place.
