JAMMU, Nov 25: NSS GGM Science College under the patronage of worthy Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo and guidance of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan observed FLAG DAY celebrating Communal Harmony Week. Funds were raised by selling communal harmony flags in the college campus by NSS volunteers and the collected money was sent via NEFT. The aim of this seven day campaigning from 19th to 25th nov. was to promote the unity in diversity and feeling of oneness amongst people to a great level. It brings a type of racial and cultural similarity among people of different community, to fostering the spirit of patriotism, communal harmony and national integration among citizens.
This week is significant for promoting communal harmony spreading the message of showing unity without uniformity and diversity without fragmentation. Mohd. Ali 5th sem was judged first in slogan writing. In poster making Gulnaz stood first, Shradha second, Avinash and Maneesh came third. The slogan and poster making events were judged by Dr. Poonam Kamotra Hod Chemistry and Dr. Babita Mahajan Dept. of Chemistry. NSS volunteers Sajal, Nancy, Sonal, Ritish, Sahil, Shabana, Reetik, Sargam, Aaghav, karanveer, Farzana, divya, neeru, sartik, vishal, sonam, prerna, shradha, gulnaz, avinash, uzma, harish, pallav, Deepak, rupani, harmandeep, ajinka, Suhani, aman, mohd. Ali, mohd. Irfan, Pallavi, tushar, sunandini, shifali, Maneesh, Nitika participated enthusiastically in this campaigning filling it with patriotic zeal.
